Jabal al-Nour – Mountain of Light

Jabal al-Nour (Arabic جبل النور) or “The Mountain of Light” is a mountain Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This Mountain has a lot of importance because it’s were the prophet Muhammad received the first verses of the Quran. The rigid stone path up the mountain leads to the most beautiful views of a magnificent city.  While climbing up the path, I thought that I could not make it all the way up, but I kept pushing my self to go higher.  Eventually I had to stop because a raining hail storm came down but the views were amazing.  I felt like I could touch the clouds.

Here are the views of Mecca from the mountain of Jabal al Nour

  1. Very beautiful! This place reminded me about one place where I’ve been last year – a small village which is a cradle of Islam in Morocco. It is also situated on the hill and many of people come there to pray.
